It’s Indigenous People Day - Worldwide there 5,000 It’s Indigenous People Day - Worldwide there 5,000+ indigenous groups IE- Aborigines in Australia, Pygmies in Africa, and Incan tribes in Peru to mention a few. Indigenous People Day is related to Native American Day, celebrated in September but today we celebrate indigenous people all around the world honoring the very first settlers of a region. Happy Banned Books Week! (Oct. 4–10) Libraries ar Happy Banned Books Week! (Oct. 4–10)

Libraries are places to explore, imagine, ask questions, and discover something new!

This week, we’re celebrating the freedom to read and encouraging families to visit their local library to find a new favorite, revisit a classic, or explore a story they’ve never heard before.

As performers in Los Angeles Public Libraries, we love seeing the joy, creativity, and connection these spaces bring to our communities. There’s so much to discover at your library - go see for yourself!

Again Again would like to celebrate Native America Again Again would like to celebrate Native American Day by sharing some Fun Facts: There are an estimated 100 native American Languages. This includes Native Alaskans. This September holiday exists to honor and celebrate Native Americans, the first Americans to live in the U.S. By the time the first explorers and settlers arrived from Europe, Native Americans had populated the entire North American continent, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and from the Gulf of Mexico to the northern reaches of Alaska and Canada. Meanwhile, native Mayans populated Central and South America. California is home to 109 federally recognized Native American tribes. Los Angeles is built on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Tongva who refer to their historic homeland as Tovaangar. Their traditional territory covers the entire Los Angeles Basin, the Southern Channel Islands, and parts of neighboring counties. #childrensmusic #indigeouspeoplesday
